The Wellesley Housing Authority administers state-supported affordable housing programs for low-income families and elderly and disabled households. Paper Version of the State Application can be accessed here. Review the following for additional information on these programs and Wellesley Housing Authority’s eligibility requirements.
Public housing aims to provide safe and comfortable rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing includes apartments owned and managed by public housing authorities. Public housing is low-rent housing for eligible families, the elderly, and people with disabilities who meet the income guidelines and eligibility qualifications.
There are two types of public housing programs available to low-income households looking for state-subsidized housing assistance:
The WHA manages four (4) state developments for elderly/disabled residents: Morton Circle (36 Units), Washington Street (40 Units), River Street (26 Units), and Weston Road (32 Units)
The WHA manages two (2) state developments: Barton Road (88 Units) and Linden Street (12 Units)
The Dedham Housing Authority (781)326-3543 administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program for Wellesley Housing Authority, providing housing assistance to low-income renters.
Participants in this program rent private apartments in the community and receive financial assistance from the HCV program to pay a portion of the rent. The participant usually pays 30-40% of their monthly income towards the rent. They may have to pay for some utilities.
